A Local Earthwork Crew for Waco Sites

Thehughesgallery runs land excavation for builders and homeowners across Waco, Texas and the surrounding McLennan County communities. We do the dirt work that everything else depends on, from clearing and grading a raw lot to placing engineered structural fill, cutting foundations, and building compacted driveway base. The equipment, the fill, and the compaction all get chosen for the job in front of us.

Waco ground has a mind of its own. The expansive clay near the river bottoms swells and shrinks with the seasons, so a pad that was not filled and compacted correctly will move and take the slab with it. That is why we strip the organics, bring in the right material, and compact it in lifts to a tested density instead of trusting the eye. A Proctor number on paper beats a guess every time.

What Sets Us Apart

• The right material for the load. Fill dirt to raise grade, structural fill under pads, crushed aggregate under drives.
• Compaction we can prove. Fill placed in six to eight inch lifts and tested to 95 percent density with a nuclear gauge.
• 811 called first. Every dig opens with a utility locate, so nothing underground gets nicked.
• Local and insured. A licensed, insured Waco-area crew, and a real person answers the phone.
